Important news for all riders, please read below:

Only a few days to go now before the 2nd Bristol Belter powered by Specialized will be welcoming the riders with a perfect selection of rolling hills, coastal views, lung bursting climbs and spine tingling gorge descents – simply the best North Somerset and the Mendips have to offer.

This Sunday (25th September 2011) two different courses will be started from the Redwood Country Club at the western edge of the city. Riders can expect 1st class start/finish facilities with ample parking right next to the registration and start/finish, showers, toilets and changing facilities (part of the Redwood Country Club).

The Standard Belter (short course) is approx. 110km long (feed stations at approx. 44 and 92km) and has around 1,300m of climbing in it. The Classic Belter (long course) is approx. 151km long (feed stations 44, 93 and 133km) and has 1,900m climbing in it. You will find water, Torq energy drinks, bananas, cakes, flapjacks, sausages rolls and lots more at the feed stations. Please don’t forget though that the feed stations are meant for replenishing your supplies but they are not to be relied upon as the only source of your provisions.

Last few entries available!
We are getting really close to capacity but still have a few entries available. If you want to be sure that you get in please enter straight away via our entry page. We are not sure if we will have day entries available at this stage. If you want to keep your options open to the last minute please call on 0117 9532698 or 07834 005835 before the end of play on Friday (5.30pm) to finsd out if we will have day entries.

Belter Certificates:
This year we will be offering certificates at the Bristol Belter powered by Specialized. The certificates are based on the riding times of the 2010 event and can be picked up only a few seconds after you have completed your rider back at Redwood Lodge Country Club and are not going to be posted out to the riders. Find the details on the ‘Event Detail’ page.

Registration and registration opening times:
The registration will be open from 7.30am to 10am on Sunday morning at the Redwood Lodge Country Club. Just head towards the Specialized flags and easy ups on the left hand side of the buildings when you enter the car park and you will find us.

When you arrive at registration you will find your name on the signing on sheets for your event/distance. The list is in alphabetical order so you should find yourself easily. After you signed next to your name you will be given the signing on bag (includes the briefing), your number board and your timing chip.

Start times:
The start is open from 8-10.00am. Riders can start whenever they are ready. We will form little groups and let them go a few minutes apart. Please expect a few minutes wait if you are intending to start early.

Event venue/directions:
To find the venue easily we have put the directions on our website. Please go to the Event Location page for details.

Parking:
There is ample parking at the Redwood Lodge Country Club. Please park your car in an orderly fashion and make sure that no valuables are on display. The car park is not guarded.

Briefing:
We have put up the briefing as a download on the website. Please read it through before you make your way to the event. You will also find a printed copy in your signing on bag. You can find the briefing on the event detail pages of the two courses.

Mobile phones:
Please bring a working and fully charged mobile phone if you can for any case of emergency. You will find the emergency numbers on your number board and on the briefing.

Event photographers:
Our event photographer RandR Photos will be at various locations around the course takingt pictures of all the passing riders. The photographs will be available for instant purchase and download shortly after the event on www.randrphotos.co.uk/event-photos.php

After the Belter:
After the Belter we still have a couple of events which might be of interest to you. First up there is the Oktoberfest (15th October) – also based in Bristol. This event is an 8 hour relay MTB race on the superb new course in Ashton Court. Check it out on www.bike-fest.com. And if running and cycling, if possible combined, is your thing, make sure you check out the Run Rider Off Road Duathlon (16th October) – www.runrider.co.uk.

Welcome to the Bristol Belter Road Sportive powered by Specialized
Now going into its 2nd year the Bristol Belter powered by Specialized will be welcoming the riders with a perfect selection of rolling hills, coastal views, lung bursting climbs and spine tingling gorge descents – simply the best North Somerset and the Mendips have to offer.

On the 25th September 2011 two different courses will be started from the Redwood Country Club at the western edge of the city. Riders can expect 1st class start/finish facilities with ample parking right next to the registration and start/finish, showers, toilets and changing facilities (part of the Redwood Country Club). Currently the courses shown are the highly praised 2010 courses. We are currently working on a few tweaks and changes and will announce them as soon as possible. In essence the course will stay very similar to the 2010 courses though – that is also in lengths and climbing.

The website is now updated and will see some further adjustments in particular with regards to the course over the next few weeks…check from time to time!

Enter now!
Nothing is better than a goal to work towards. Even with the event being a long time off why not get yourself that goal right now and enter the Bristol Belter powered by Specialized.
As always you can enter the event via good old paper entry form and cheque or use the online entry provided by the Active network. For both simply click on the entry page

The entry fee is again £ 25 and includes: ride entry, ride entry, electronic chip timing, service stations on course, finishing present, free parking, free usage of facilities and free certificate. And if you are keen to make a whole weekend out of it why not check out the ‘Special Belter Deal’ at the Redwood Lodge Hotel.
